Dennis Wheatley Day

Post by Steve Whatley »

Ah, Dennis Wheatley Day is here again!

The Birthday of our Literary Hero was, of course, 8 January 1897.

Let us all raise a glass at some stage today, and toast dear old Dennis!

Cheers!

I'm having the Convention DW cocktail "the Dennis Wheatley" as per the 2013 convention report (pour the following over ice in a tall glass : 40ml of Bacardi, 15ml fresh lemon, fill with cranberry juice – delicious !).

Here's to Mr W.

Bottoms up!!
Regards,

Darren.

Ah, now the 8th of January also fell on a Friday in 1897.

DW was born just before 8pm.

I hope that will be a convenient time for many to raise a glass of something to toast his Birthday!

Happy DW Day one and all!

That's quite a nice drink, isn't it?

Belated thanks for the reminder, Steve,

I was a bit pre-occupied with other things, and only read your post tonight.

I shall accordingly drink his toast - and all of ours - tonight !

All best to all !

i had seen your post steve just as i headed to bed on sunday night so resolved to raise a moscow mule to the great man on monday night. alas events overcame me and the death of one of my other great heroes, sorry about that but im afraid theres no other word that suits, david bowie. not one to be be disrespectful i raised a glass to each of them in turn.
i had known for some time that their birthdays were only a day apart, although obviously separated by many years but it was only yesterday that i realised they must have been born quiet close together geographically as well.

funny old world.
