The 2012 Convention

Post by Charles »

Dear All,

I've spoken to the Corus Elstree Hotel and asked them to put us down for our next Convention (our fifth) on Saturday 27th October 2012, so please put it in your diaries !

I hope you enjoyed last weekend as much as I did - I look forward to Steve P's Report :D

Dear All,

Please note the hotel had a mix-up on dates. The date of the next Convention will be Saturday November 3rd 2012.

Very best wishes !

Well, because you never know what will happen between now and then, I've made a note of this in my datebook...

Dear Jim,

It would be truly great if you can make it !!!

Some of you were asking me about the possibility of reserving some of the 'best' rooms round the Sophia Loren Lounge on the first floor of the 'old building'.

I've contacted the hotel, and room prices and layouts are as follows :

"On the Sophia Loren Lounge we have 3 Suites & 2 Executive Rooms and then we have 8 Executive rooms on the floor above.

Prices are :

£195.00 Double Occupancy for Suites
£175.00 Double Occupancy for Executives
£150.00 Single Occupancy for Executives
£170.00 Double Occupancy for Standard
£145.00 Single Occupancy for Standard

If anyone would like to pre-reserve any of the expensive rooms now, please let me know.

Similarly if anyone would like to put themselves down definitely at the stage for one of the standard rooms, it would be helpful to know.

That way we can make sure we get the rooms we want - as you know, the hotel is (deservedly) becoming distinctly popular.

Best as always !

Dear All,

Ken Cope very sensibly asked me to check the Friday night rates, and for the non Standard rate rooms they are higher. I quote :-

"The Friday night rates from this year was £79.00 Bed & Breakfast for a Standard Room, for the Executive rooms it would £109.00 Bed & Breakfast & for the Suites it would be £130.00 Bed & Breakfast".

If this makes a difference to anyone's bookings, please let me know.

All best wishes,
Charles

Dear All,

I believe we're making progress !

The 3rd November 2012 Convention at Elstree.

The Corus Elstree Hotel have confirmed 'final' costings.

Friday night :

£79.00 Bed & Breakfast for a Standard Room
£109.00 Bed & Breakfast for the Executive rooms (i.e. "old section rooms")
£130.00 Bed & Breakfast for the Suites

Convention plus Saturday night :

£145.00 Single Occupancy for Standard
£170.00 Double Occupancy for Standard
£150.00 Single Occupancy for Executives
£175.00 Double Occupancy for Executives
£195.00 Double Occupancy for Suites

I imagine the 'Day Only' rates will be unchanged - they haven't said.

As far as I can see, there are enough Suites and Executive Rooms to go round for those who indicated they might want them.

If you could confirm what you would like, I will pass it on to the Hotel.

Best wishes as always !
