DW's Birthday

Post by Charles »

In case any of you missed it, yesterday was the 111th anniversary of DW's birth, and this was picked up by The Times in its Anniversary section.

See http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_a ... 147603.ece for details.

All best !

When I read your note and saw that it was DW's 'Eleventy first' birthday yesterday I wondered if there may be some deep and meaningful esoteric significance to the 111 birthday. So, I rushed upstairs to dig out my copy of 'The Devil and all his works' and thumbed through to the numerology section to see if there was any connection with his special number. Alas, the number that is allocated to Dennis Wheatley is 8. C'est la vie!!!!
What was the date yesterday 08/01/08 add them together = 17 = 8.
What does this all mean you ask?? Probably that I've got nothing better to do......

Stevie, it probably means you had such a good New Year's Eve you can't remember it - it's now 2009!

Steve,

I can understand why you you think the date is wrong. However I did write my note a year ago. Charles didn't reply to it until a few days ago.

What day is it???? :)

All the best

Stevie! Sorry, I thought your posting looked familiar - now I know why! Can't trust my memory these days.

Best Wishes, Steve

Anything worth reading once is worth reading twice - or more !

Can't think how many times I've read my favourite DW books !

All best

This prompts the question, "Were all DW's books worth reading once?"
I know this suggests a traitor in the camp but there are some of DW's books that I will keep on re- reading i.e. TDRO, The Golden Spaniard, The Forbidden Territory, Sixty Days to Live and many more but I wouldn't bother with 'Old Rowley or Red Eagle' I much prefer his fiction.

Just to mention that DW was born this day, Friday 8th of January, 1897, at approximately 8 p.m.

I'll be raising a glass to him, and will be delighted if you'll join me, wherever you are !

If my maths is right, this year he'd have been 113.

Best to everyone !

Hello Everyone. Here we are, a year later - doesn't time fly?

Let's all raise a glass some time today and toast the 114th Anniversary of Dennis Wheatley's birth.

Good health everyone!

While we're on the subject of significant dates (this posting is hardly worth a whole new thread): happy Saint Walburga's Eve, everyone! Just don't forget to bar and double-lock your doors tonight ....

Happy Birthday Dennis Wheatley once again!

Born in the Diamond Jubilee year of Queen Victoria.

Died in the Silver Jubilee year of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II.

And here's to his 115th Anniversary in the Diamond Jubilee year of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II.

Let's hope it's a splendid year for the Diamond Jubilee, for the Olympics and Paralympics, and for the 5th Dennis Wheatley Convention!
