The Irish Witch

Post by Toohey »

I found this one a far stronger entry in the Roger Brook series. Here there are really two stories, one concerning Witchcraft with his son and the other the usual historical story set mainly in America with Roger. I found the descriptions of the Witchcraft rituals excellent and very well written - the ending is very exciting and as usual the guilty get their just deserts!

The historical side of thing with Roger Brook is a bit of a plod - full of the usual data dumps which are a real chore to work through. Though, Roger Brook is quite sympathetic to the plight of the native Indian which I found a pleasant suprise.

Definitely one to read, if only for the withcraft episodes, even if you hate the Roger Brook character.
