New 'member-postings' rules

As a result of me increasingly having to clean-up/delete spam-type messages and ?members? only pretending to join to advertise their dodgy sites, I propose to restrict future postings to logged-in members only. Should this present a problem to anyone, please let me know before I implement the change...

A correspondent in Spain has received an e-mail dated 12 October from the publisher where they state ... the book has not yet been published. We are nearly there and I would hope copies will be ready in a few weeks time. Maybe they intend to time the release with the BBC FOUR TV programme?? I live i...

This is devastating news - anyone else got this e-mail (I haven't, yet)? A couple of us have been pestering the publisher, but he never replies. All very strange. Particularly as Amazon haven't withdrawn the item and it still comes up as No.1 in the most popular results when searching for books by C...

The Devil Rides Out remake

The rumours are getting stronger re a re-make of tDRO, but the project may yet falter due to complicated legal rights. Meanwhile, I have been asked to gather opinion from the DW community as to which de Richleau title they think would make a good film. The novel may make a stand-alone film or, alter...

Reichleau v. Richleau

Back to Reichleau v. Richleau, I have had a further thought. The 2nd 'de Richleau' title was, of course, The Devil Rides Out . In there DW dwells in some detail on numerology and uses the spelling of 'De Richleau' to show that his number 8 has many exceptional qualities. Unfortunately, 'de Reichleau...

BBC FOUR TV: The Lost Decade

An advance warning to set aside all trivial pursuits and be ready with video/DVD recorders towards the end of October. Get a good supply of suitable refreshments ready, send the family away, arrange boarding for the pets, unplug the phone, switch off the mobile, draw the curtains, double-lock all th...

The Devil Rides Out - 1st edition

I have been told that a 1st edition presentation copy of The Devil Rides Out (1st edition variant with page 329 excised and no catalogue) has become available. The copy is complete with dust wrapper and has been given a VG/VG classification. It also contains a lengthy inscription to one of DW's clos...
