Dear Luke, I don't know if it will help you with your researches, but have you seen the illustrated postcard of Goring sent to DW at that time, and which is the first exhibit in this site's 'Virtual Museum' Room on World War One ? You can find it at http://www.denniswheatley.info/museum/room.asp?id=...

Chris Josiffe gave a first class lecture, illustrated with Powerpoint slides. His talk lasted about an hour followed by questions, and was delivered to a packed audience - although surprisingly I didn't see any familiar faces in the room. Chris started by talking about RA's acquaintance / friendship...

A bit late notice, but if anyone didn't spot it, Chris Josiffe is giving a talk on Rollo Ahmed at Treadwell's Bookshop in London WC1 tomorrow evening. See https://www.treadwells-london.com/event/rollo-ahmed-londons-black-magician/ for details. DW is sure to get at least a mention. I'm going and will...

Just to complete the tariff, anyone coming to the Convention 'day only' and without accommodation, the charge is £90 if they are joining us for dinner, and £60 if they are only staying for lunch.

Best as always,

Looking at the first 'free' six pages on Amazon, I see another person's name is also spelt two different ways.

But I won't say more 'til I've read it. It's on order.

What do you think ??? Will you be giving it a read ???

All best !

A new 'Modern Musketeers' book. 'Blasphemy' ???

Dear All, My thanks as so often to Jim Devlin in the USA for some breaking news that had escaped me. A person named Geoff Martin has written a novel about the 'three musketeers' with the events taking place some two years after the Duke's death. I'm not sure if he received the appropriate permission...

I like that sort of challenge ... sorry I wasn't able to come up with a better answer ... at least yet !

If you find the missing bits let me know ... or maybe you should have a go at reconstructing them - ?

All best !

I would if I could but I can't :D

I've just consulted a copy of the original first edition published in January 1936.

The passage is on page 278 there, and is identical to what you quote from the Heron edition.

I guess I'll have to consult the manuscript :D !

Best as always !
