You're absolutely right, Sir - DW himself fell out with Hammer over this production, which prevented any other DW titles from being filmed by them.
Check out the film page for further details of the films from DW's novels.

Tell me, who penned the cosy introduction to the library on here?. I think thats one of the things i enjoy about the DW DeRichleau stories, the fine cigars, the wine, the wonderful leather upholstered furniture ( i'm guessing anyway)......great stuff! I cannot lie - it was I (with due acknowledgeme...

Welcome Raven, nice to have you on board. I agree with Nick - a must read for any DW fan and definitely one of my favourites (well, anything that had adventures on the Astral Plane does it for me!). To quote from the main site (taken from an Arrow edition): When the bombs fall on London the elderly ...

Nice story, Mike, thanks for that. Right now I'm working through The Launching of Roger Brook which I've read twice already but it's a magnificent book. I don't care what Bob and other members say - Roger Brook rules, OK? O.K., I'll rise to the bait! I challenge you to find out where I have ever den...

Courtesy, with grateful thanks, of Phil Baker, DW's official biographer: I find it a little bit inscrutable myself (particularly the woman) but the key point is that while we are usually told the tree in the Garden was the tree of Knowledge, or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Tombe is qu...

Welcome Frank Yes, got a copy of the Daily Express. If anyone wants to see what it says, please drop me a pm. Jim: Interesting that we've been able to get copies of CC's book here in the UK since December, but the Express tells its readers that it will be available from March 23rd!! (It doesn't say ...

Re: Letter for Posterity: video/DVD recording?
I wondered if anyone has managed to record this on either video or DVD I did and sent copies to a couple of overseas fans and then deleted it from the hard disk! All I'm left with is a protected DVD which I can't copy! If anyone has any ideas....?? Secondly, does anyone know if the DW biography &qu...

Merewenna
Want a light read and be transported back to good old Medieval England? Then I can thoroughly recommend Alan's 'Merewenna' (written as Dan Ashlin). If not, then all you DW completionists must get a copy for its unique dedication. And if that isn't enough to tempt you, there is also a family in the n...

Churchill's Storyteller (at last!)
Sorry, but I'm way behind with this topic. Can I assume everyone has now got their copy? Mine arrived between the turkey and the whisky/fireworks. Thoughts as to content: an easy way to fill a book - reprint an earlier publication (in this case 'Stranger than Fiction'). However, I did enjoy the cont...

I'm relaxed, I think it's great seeing different views (check out the topic on DW in gloomy sundae's forum) - the old adage still applies: "there's no such thing as bad publicity".
