Thats a thought, Steve. It might explain why Agatha Christie retained her (maybe even grew in) popularity after her death.

Murder Off Miami was published in the US as 'Crimefile Number 1 File on Bolitho Blane' in 1936 (I got that info from this site's museum). Interestingly for sale on ebay at the moment in the US is a school yearbook called '1937 Calhoun Girls School Yearbook'. It is a typical school yearbook from the ...

I didn't pay much attention to this when it first appeared. Now it's a few days away, I'm getting curious. Does the etiquette require a dress code? We only have flat caps and wellies up here.

Thanks Charles. The idea to release the books on the run up to Halloween was clearly a good idea. The original Daily Express article is now finally online: http://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/books/437716/Master-of-the-macabre-What-will-modern-readers-make-of-horror-writer-Dennis-Wheatley I'm loo...

There is a great blog running called Pretty Sinister Books that is currently discussing DW. You can find it at http://prettysinister.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/ffb-to-devil-daughter-dennis-wheatley.html Once you have read the DW thread it's worth clicking the home button and checking out the older posts...

Hi folks,

There is further DW promotion on the SFX magazine website. It is a competition to win three of the new paperbacks just published - but it ends tomorrow (18th October).

I'm going to approach these new releases of ebooks the same as you, Eric. I haven't decided which one I'm going to read next, but after getting TDRO out of my system I'm going to catch up with the ones I haven't read yet. I'll still buy them in hard book form as I find them - but for the actual read...

I know, I know - there is so much more to DW than The Devil Rides Out, but I couldn't help myself. TDRO was the first DW book I read and it is now the first DW ebook I have read. It's like going down to the pub and having a few pints of best bitter with some old friends. Or relaxing with the family ...

Great interview, Charles. The World Service works on GMT so it's actually just after 6.40am. You can listen to Charles and Dominic via the following link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01j7zb4 You've got 7 days to listen to it before it goes. The DW section starts at 45.00 minutes into the show. ...

It's like magic. I went to bed last night with a kindle devoid of Dennis Wheatley by my side and when I woke up this morning it had DW books all ready and waiting. I'm look forward to getting to know Roger Brook when those books become available.

Just over 2 days before they are out on kindle.

I wonder if they will be available from midnight.

I haven't decided which one to start with - though I'm thinking of spoiling myself with TDRO and then go for a novel I haven't read yet. :smt023

Actually, Ken, I do have an idea if that 30 minute slot is still available. I don't seem to be able to contact you via this forum. Messaging has been disabled. If the slot is free, email me at daznugent@sky.com and I will reply with my idea.
Cheers.

That's interesting. I'm often guilty of using the term "Yanks" to cover all the US. Is this offensive to non-Yanks? I have noticed on many occasions that "Yanks" often refer to England when in context of the conversation they are clearly referring to the whole of the UK. I imagin...
