I was also sad to hear the news about Iwan. I will always remember his knowledge of DW and the chat I had with him over dinner at the first convention about books in the crime genre. Another favourite of mine. I also read books by Colin Forbes and Iwan told me that he was given a note of appreciatio...

Steve, Very good point about the length and, bearing in mind recent comments on the Classic Black Magic trilogy, subsequent weight of the book. Being lazy, because I can't think of anything better at the moment, how about The Roger Brook Saga Vol 1, 1783-1789, The Roger Brook Saga Vol 2, 1789- 1794 ...

Further to Steve W's suggestion, what about re-issuing the Roger Brook story in 4 omnibus editions containing 3 stories each. The titles could simply be The Roger Brook Saga Vol1 1783-1792, The Roger Brook Saga Vol 2 1793-1798 etc. We have also discussed at the conventions and on this forum which of...

Charles,

Your suggestions for the Saturday are ok for me.

I have only been in Lymington to catch the Ferry, yes Steve it's still there, so do not know much about the place to put forward any suggestions.

Looking forward to meeting everyone again

Ken has made a good point. All of the recent Dennis Wheatley releases have featured his 'Black Magic ' stories. The three books in the Best of Dennis Wheatley were, with addition of The Satanist, the stories released by BCA in 2 books in 2005. I think this goes to show that although he only wrote 11...

I agree with Steve W. The Angel Inn sounds a good first choice especiaaly with the likely numbers involved.

If my memory serves me correctly Steve is also correct in his thinking that parts of The Ka of Gifford Hillary has connections to this area.

Visiting one of my local charity shops yesterday, was able to purchase a copy, not the originals but the Webb&Bower reprints , of two of DW's crime dossiers, Who killed Robert Prentice? and The Malinsay Massacre, fortunately it appears both with the seals intact.

Similar to Jim my Dennis Wheatle books are a mixture of editions. I would class myself as a reader rather than a collector of his book. However, when I rediscovered DW in late 2006 I made it my aim to have a copy of each one of his books and had great fun trawling second hand bookshop and charity sh...

Charles, Once again congratulations on another great convention. Like everyone I missed Iwan and Nick, and send my best wishes to them both and to their wives. I would also like to thank and congratulate everyone who stood in to fill gaps left by the above two gentlemen, both have big shoes to fill....

Charles,

At the moment, because of possible work commitments, I would have to go for the 30th October as a preference.

All the best as always

Been following this topic with much interest, can't think of further suggestions for packs of cards or food, but I think Alan may have something with his idea of a computer game. What about one based on 'Strange Conflict' where the player can leave his body and can face combat on the astral plane an...
