I should update this thread by saying that I did, finally, get a Lymington copy of Mediterranean Nights ...and a signed one to boot! Gunmen , however, continues to elude me... NOT ANY MORE! :D My package came today, with my very own copy of the Lymington Gunmen , purchased through eBay. Now maybe o...

Thanks for posting all of these photos. I have been to England a dozen times, but haven't seen that much outside London and the other big places (except for Lewes, because I have friends there). Nice to have images to go with our favorite books...

I had Bull's Blood when I was in Poland some years back. I'm not a fan of red wine, and didn't drink it at all back then, so I can't say if it was good or bad; it struck me as rather heavy, period. (As for Guinness, I thought it was a glass of mud with a head...)

Blimey- The House of Lost Souls . I could only manage the first couple of chapters. One of the worst pieces of hackwork I've ever come across (although if I'd known DW was going to make an appearance, I might have persevered). Don't worry--you didn't miss anything. It was only a vaguely accurate po...

Re: Another Wheatley curiosity

"It pits history’s most esteemed escape artist, Harry Houdini, and his friend, bestselling novelist, Dennis Wheatley, against ancient evil in the small New England town of Dunwich." Interesting to see DW as a character in two novels in just a few years. History be damned: Wheatley's fir...

Not to put down Tina Rosenberg, whose little book I read and enjoyed, but is there anything in D for Deception which was not in Wheatley's own The Deception Planners, issued thirty years before? The Express article makes it sound as though none of this had been known until a year or two ago...

Re: Curious set of DW posters

If you've not seen these then you are in for a pleasant surprise. I have only just discovered them and I love them. You can't see it clearly but the wine is a 1973 Rustenberg Cabernet Sauvignon. I, of course, was more interested to see what the books were... :D (Thanks so much for sharing that!)

Well Jim, I ordered on 2 December, and I'm still waiting! They've twice invited me to cancel my order. Is it available direct from the publisher? It does not show on their (Strange Attractor) site yet. Their book on "Baron Corvo" was also very late in appearing...
