Personally, I stuck to my favorite, beer. Which is Wheatley-ish, I guess, even if I wasn't building a brick wall all day beforehand. I don't go in much for sweet alcoholic drinks. Makes me feel a bit queasy. It may have something to do with the Everclear and fruit juice I once had some years ago. Ju...

The Forbidden Territory was one of the first books of Wheatley's that I read that wasn't black magic/occult/fantasy related. I think the first that wasn't occult related that I read was They Found Atlantis, but I figured I'd like that one. When I started reading Forbidden Territory, I was worried I ...

I didn't get any Dennis Wheatley stuff this year, but I have in the past and for birthdays. The American edition of The Devil and All His Works, for instance. I know there have been some others, but my memory is getting vague about some of these things. I am starting to forget when I got some of my ...

I never met the man, but he created a website that many years ago was a big help to me as I struggled to learn more about this mostly-forgotten author and from what everybody says about him, he was a good guy. And I think, Charles, that he would be proud with the way you have continued the website, ...

Maybe one of these days, I will be able to actually watch the Blu-ray, but in the meantime, the DVD is excellent and I believe includes everything that is on the Blu-ray. Did you notice anything on the Blu-ray that isn't on the DVD, Garry? I agree that the effects enhancements were done in good tast...

Probably just because it is the first of the series and they view it as being more significant than others from that time. Also, fewer copies of that one may surface these days than other books or there might have even been fewer copies printed at that time than some other titles. Mostly, I think so...

Well, were you a 14-year-old schoolboy then, Shane? Actually, I know how you feel. Anytime I hear my voice played back, it sounds so weird to me and not particularly low. I don't expect to sound like Christopher Lee or anything like that, but it always sounds to me like my voice sped up a bit, raisi...

I haven't gotten any of the new ebooks yet, but I certainly plan to, especially the ones I don't have at all yet, though I will eventually get physical copies of them as well. As anybody read much of any of them yet? I am curious at to how they turned out, if there are numerous errors in the text or...

Wow, Cibator, you sound like you have a great interest in linguistics. It is rather amazing how words and their meanings change over the years. I think a lot of comes from people who don't really know what a word means using it anyway and eventually, people accept the word's misuse as a regular use....

I actually recently got the Blu-ray/DVD set of the new version of The Devil Rides Out. I am able to watch the DVD on my computer, but unfortunately, I don't have a way to play import Blu-ray discs yet. I am glad that many companies do these combo packages, especially with some of these recent Hammer...

Okay, this one may or may not be archaic, but I don't think i have ever heard it used (at least not this way) except in Wheatley novels. I have noticed that many characters in Wheatley novels will start a sentence that is usually a response to some surprise (often not a good one, of course) with &qu...

Thanks for pointing that podcast out, Darren. Being a big horror fan and a long time fan of Hammer, Amicus, Tigon, etc. this is fun to listen to. Also, I was insanely happy to hear that somebody else is really bugged by that doofy way of running that Rex has in the Devil Rides Out. I can only assume...
