This sort of thing does not help
From an American idiot with a website called trash fiction..... Back in the early-1970s Dennis Wheatley was a big name. Now, as far as I can tell, he's pretty much forgotten and books that used to be best-sellers, like To The Devil A Daughter and The Devil Rides Out, go entirely unread. This isn't n...

Any body got a Cocktail recipe that would have excited DW! I promise I'll try them all out for you (well there's a surprise!) My wife was a bar manageress at ...

Do you know I am sure there was another passage somewhere that consisted of the Duke Rex and Simon discussing how they would live if they lost their wealth, and the consensus being that they would carry on with the same standards an life style as best as they could etc. etc. I'll have a go at findin...

As the credit crunch bites I cant help wondering......
Which of DW charactors be worth the most? DeRichleau dealt succesfully in high finance and runs a castle, a home in Pangbourne and a flat in Mayfair with a chef and a valet has a Hispano and a Touring Rolls with one Chauffeur, (about £5million?) but then there is Sir Pellinore Gwain Cust (with no b...

My question back in July seems to have been one we have all been pondering. An excellent piece of research Steve, and I think that you are certainly on the right track. May the Ghost of Wilkes raise his glass to your efforts, and I dare say there will be a few glasses coming your way at the next con...

Perhaps another possibility for the next convention!!!!!! NoI think it would be cheaper to phone Ferraro at the Berkley (He never lets you down!) and book us all in there. Or perhaps lease a house in St Johns Wood, get Ferraro to deliver the buffet, and start scoffing 'Duck a la Montmorency' while t...

Sorry but Wilkes and the Pride of Peacocks were to be found 'over the fields' in the village at Cardinals Folly near Kidderminster, no where near Salisbury. Not one to make negative comments without some effort on my part I've tracked down a Peacock Inn at Tenbury Wells, about 15 miles from Kiddermi...
