Charles (or anyone else who might know), the DW Wikipedia article says "His availability and influence declined following his death, partly owing to difficulties of reprinting his works because of copyright problems." Weren't all the copyrights assigned to Brook-Richleau Ltd? What complicated the si...

Well, I saw the first DW title from Bloomsbury in the U.S. today--and bought it! Eighty years after its first appearance, I have a new first printing of The Forbidden Territory . I'm not happy to see the words "edited by Miranda Vaughan Jones" on the title page, but I guess some "correcting" of the ...

I also came to Dennis Wheatley in the early 1970s, and I guess The Devil Rides Out was my first. There was at that time an attempt to sell him to the American market--it did not go over well, except for the Black Magic titles, and only the first two Gregory Sallust and Roger Brook stories were issue...

Aleister Crowley's books

We know that DW had a few Crowley items in his library, but who would have expected a major collection to be found in Detroit? When an unclaimed trove of manuscripts and self-published books stored in a Detroit warehouse came to light, the dark side of magician Aleister Crowley roused collectors—a...

My only gripe - Christopher Josiffe has copied several pictures from the Dennis Wheatley Virtual Museum, without request or acknowledgement. I suppose that's commonplace, but it does seem a little discourteous. Is there an e-mail where you could send a note? If you state your gripe politely, perhap...

Congratulations Jim. 7 years - I admire your patience and tenacity. It must be even longer, because at the time of my original posting in this thread, I had already set up wants at eBay. It was a good week because I also found the last two Janet Neel mysteries in signed British firsts. Of course, s...

I should update this thread by saying that I did, finally, get a Lymington copy of Mediterranean Nights ...and a signed one to boot! Gunmen , however, continues to elude me... NOT ANY MORE! :D My package came today, with my very own copy of the Lymington Gunmen , purchased through eBay. Now maybe o...
